Durga Puja Celebration at Hem Sheela Model School

A Vibrant Display of Culture and Tradition

The students of Hem Sheela Model School recently celebrated the grand festival of Durga Puja with immense enthusiasm and devotion. The school premises came alive with the festive spirit as students and staff gathered to honor the goddess Durga and commemorate her victory over evil.

In a well-orchestrated play, the students brought the ancient tale of Goddess Durga’s battle with the demon king Mahisasur to life. The roles of Durga and Mahisasur were skillfully portrayed by the students, who displayed their acting talents with passion and confidence. The powerful depiction of Durga, adorned with traditional attire, symbolized strength, courage, and the triumph of good over evil, while Mahisasur’s fierce presence showcased the darker forces at play in the mythological tale.

The event was marked by various cultural programs, including traditional dances, music, and recitals dedicated to Maa Durga. The vibrancy of the costumes, the rhythmic beats of the dhol, and the beautiful decorations added to the festive atmosphere. Students from all classes participated actively, ensuring that the celebration reflected unity and the rich cultural heritage of Bengal.

The Durga Puja celebration at Hem Sheela not only highlighted the students’ artistic abilities but also instilled in them a deeper understanding of the cultural and religious significance of the festival. It was a day filled with learning, creativity, and reverence, making it a memorable event for the entire school community.

As the festival concluded, the school resounded with chants of “Jai Maa Durga!”, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and spiritual fulfillment.
