Quit India Program by the students

On August 9, 2024, the students of Hem Sheela Model School organized a cultural program to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the Quit India Movement. The event was held in the school assembly ground and was attended by students, faculty, and staff.

Student Performances: The students showcased their talents through various performances that captured the spirit of the Quit India Movement:

  1. Dramatic Presentation: A powerful skit depicting the events leading up to the Quit India Movement was performed by the students of class 10. The skit portrayed key historical figures such as Matangani Hazra, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, bringing to life the challenges and sacrifices faced by the leaders and the common people during the movement.
  2. Patriotic Songs: The school choir performed a medley of patriotic songs that resonated with the audience. which stirred a sense of pride and patriotism among the attendees.
  3. Dance Performances: Students performed a classical dance routine that symbolized the unity and resilience of the Indian people. The performance was a fusion of Bharatnatyam and Kathak, representing the cultural diversity of India.
  4. Speech Competitions: A speech competition was held for students of classes 9 to 12, where participants spoke on the relevance of the Quit India Movement in contemporary times. The speeches emphasized the importance of unity, non-violence, and self-reliance, values that are still pertinent today.

Conclusion: The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal, who appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers in making the event a success. The Principal also addressed the gathering, encouraging the students to draw inspiration from the Quit India Movement and contribute positively to the nation.

The event was a fitting tribute to one of the most significant movements in India’s history and served as a reminder to the younger generation of the sacrifices made by their ancestors for the country’s freedom.
